Description
The Adafruit Feather M0 RFM69 Packet Radio (868 or 915 MHz), also known as RadioFruit, is a compact and lightweight microcontroller development board combining an ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex M0 processor and an RFM69HCW packet radio transceiver. It supports USB programming, built-in battery charging, and operates at 3.3V logic.
This is the 900 MHz version which can be tuned dynamically for either 868MHz or 915MHz transmission/reception through software. Perfect for wireless communication with a range of approximately 350 meters, depending on conditions. It supports encrypted packet transmission using AES-128 and uses the license-free ISM band.
Key features include:
- ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex M0 processor @ 48MHz, with 256K FLASH and 32K RAM
- Built-in USB bootloader and serial port debugging (no FTDI chip required)
- 3.3V regulator with 500mA peak current output
- Built-in 100mA LiPo battery charger with status LED
- 20 GPIO pins with hardware serial, I2C, SPI support
- 8 PWM pins, 10 analog inputs, 1 analog output
- Packet radio module based on SX1231 with SPI interface
- Power output selectable in software from +13 to +20 dBm (up to 100mW)
- Supports multipoint networks with individual node addresses
- Pin #13 red LED for general purpose blinking
- Includes headers for breadboard compatibility and mounting holes
Board dimensions are 51mm x 23mm x 8mm (2.0" x 0.9" x 0.28") and weighs approximately 5.6 grams. Requires an external antenna (wire or uFL connector). Battery and USB cable not included.
