Description

The Adafruit HTS221 is a capacitive digital temperature and humidity sensor breakout board featuring the ST HTS221 sensor. It accurately measures relative humidity from 0% to 100% with 0.004% sensitivity and ±3.5% accuracy between 20-80% rH. Temperature measurement ranges from -40 to 120 °C with a resolution of 0.016°C and ±0.5 °C accuracy between 15 and 40 °C.

This sensor breakout provides selectable 3-wire SPI or I2C interfaces with STEMMA QT connectors for easy plug-and-play integration without soldering. It operates on 3 to 5 VDC power and offers built-in level shifting and power regulation, making it compatible with both 5V and 3.3V logic devices.

Key Features:

  • Capacitive digital sensor for relative humidity and temperature
  • Humidity range: 0 to 100% rH with ±3.5% accuracy (20-80% rH)
  • Temperature range: -40 to 120 °C with ±0.5°C accuracy (15 to 40 °C)
  • High sensitivity: 0.004% rH/LSB
  • Embedded 16-bit ADC for humidity and temperature output
  • Selectable 3-wire SPI and I2C (address 0x5F) interfaces
  • 3-5 V power and logic level compatibility with onboard regulator and level shifters
  • ST Factory calibrated for accurate measurements
  • Comes with STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors for easy wiring

This sensor is ideal for monitoring humidity and temperature in environments sensitive to moisture, such as electronics, greenhouses, mushroom farms, and living spaces.

Additional resources include Arduino and CircuitPython libraries, example codes, and detailed guides for quick setup and use.
