Description

Add short-hop wireless to your Feather with the Adafruit LoRa Radio FeatherWing - RFM95W 900 MHz - RadioFruit. This add-on board allows you to integrate long-range LoRa radio communication on the 868 or 915 MHz ISM bands, making it ideal for kilometer-range radio applications.

Featuring the powerful SX127x LoRa® based module with SPI interface and ready-to-go Arduino libraries, this FeatherWing operates at +5 to +20 dBm output power up to 100 mW, which can be selected via software. It consumes only about 300uA during full sleep, 120mA peak during +20dBm transmit, and around 40mA during active listening.

The module can achieve over 2 km line-of-sight range with simple wire antennas and up to 20 km with directional antennas and configuration tweaks. This version supports dynamic frequency tuning around 868 MHz or 915 MHz.

Key Features:

  • SX127x LoRa® module with SPI interface
  • Packet radio with Arduino libraries
  • License-free ISM band operation (868 or 915 MHz)
  • Selectable power output from +5 to +20 dBm (up to 100 mW)
  • Low power consumption: 300uA sleep, 120mA transmit peak, 40mA active listening
  • Over 2 km range with simple antennas, up to 20 km with directional antennas
  • Compatible with Feather ESP8266, Teensy 3 Feather, Feather 32u4, and Feather M0 series
  • Metal shield cover for protection
  • Header pins included; soldering required

This FeatherWing is perfect for IoT and wireless projects requiring long-range low-power communications. It is recommended to use with matching frequency and modulation Feather boards for proper communication.
