Description
Add motion and orientation sensing to your Arduino project with this affordable 6 Degree of Freedom (6-DoF) sensor featuring the ST LSM6DS3TR-C accelerometer and gyroscope.
The 3-axis accelerometer detects gravitational direction and acceleration, while the 3-axis gyroscope measures spin and twist. This board offers similar performance to the now-discontinued LSM6DS33 but with improved capabilities. It supports both I2C and SPI interfaces and includes voltage regulation and level shifting for compatibility with 3V or 5V logic.
Equipped with STEMMA QT/Qwiic connectors, the breakout board enables quick, solderless connections for easy integration with various microcontrollers.
Key features include:
- ST LSM6DS3TR-C sensor (accelerometer + gyroscope)
- ±2/±4/±8/±16 g accelerometer full scale ranges
- ±125/±250/±500/±1000/±2000 dps gyroscope full scale ranges
- I2C (address 0x6A or 0x6B) and SPI interfaces
- Up to 1.6 kHz output data rate (ODR)
- Tap, double-tap, free-fall, pedometer, and shake detection
- Voltage regulation and level shifting for 3V and 5V compatibility
- STEMMA QT / Qwiic compatible connectors for solderless I2C connection
- Compact size of 25.3mm x 17.8mm x 4.6mm
- Lightweight at 1.7g
- Four mounting holes for secure attachment
Note: This breakout does not include a magnetometer, which is often required for accurate orientation. For that, Adafruit recommends the LIS3MDL 3-axis magnetometer.
Comes fully assembled and tested, with extra header pins included for breadboard use.
