Description
Behold the ST LSM6DSO32: a high-performance 6-DoF IMU sensor combining a 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope. This sensor supports accelerometer ranges of ±4/±8/±16/±32 g with update rates from 1.6 Hz to 6.7 kHz and gyroscope ranges of ±125/±250/±500/±1000/±2000 dps at 12.5 Hz to 6.7 kHz.
This breakout board offers these key features:
- 6 degrees of freedom: linear acceleration and angular velocity sensing
- Built-in tap detection, activity detection, pedometer/step counter
- Programmable finite state machine and machine learning core for gesture recognition
- Dual interface with SPI or I2C connectivity
- Two configurable interrupt pins
- External I2C/SPI port for additional devices, ideal for optical image stabilization
- Compatible with 3V or 5V power and logic levels thanks to onboard voltage regulation and level shifting
- STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors for easy I2C wiring without soldering
- Includes libraries for Arduino/C++ and CircuitPython/Python for fast integration
The board is updated as of February 16, 2024 with a legible silkscreen using Adafruit Pinguin. It may ship with LSM6DSO32 or LSM6DSO32 X sensor variants, the latter adding machine learning features while maintaining compatibility.
