Description
The Adafruit Metro M7 with microSD is the fastest Metro board ever, powered by an NXP iMX RT1011 microcontroller with a 500 MHz ARM Cortex M7 processor. This powerful board features 8 MB of execute-in-place QSPI flash for firmware and disk storage, and 128KB of in-chip SRAM. It maintains Arduino-compatible headers for easy shield usage, and includes an onboard micro SD card slot supporting file reading and data logging.
Created in collaboration with DigiKey and NXP, this board combines fast shipping parts, expert microcontroller design, and quality product crafting with tutorials from Adafruit. The iMX RT1011 chip family offers superior performance compared to M0 or M4 chips, running at clock speeds exceeding 500 MHz. The Metro M7 form factor is Arduino UNO-shaped to support many Arduino shields and is fully open source to enable custom designs.
Enjoy easy programming options including CircuitPython and MCU Xpresso IDE for advanced C/C++ embedded development. Note that Arduino or Platform.io support is not available.
