Description

Add affordable heat-vision to your project with the Adafruit MLX90640 Thermal Camera Breakout featuring a 24x32 array of IR thermal sensors. Connect it to your microcontroller or Raspberry Pi via I2C to receive an array of 768 individual infrared temperature readings, enabling compact and simple thermal sensing integration.

This version offers a wide 110°x70° field of view, suitable for creating custom thermal cameras or human detectors. It measures temperatures ranging from -40°C to 300°C with an accuracy of ±2°C between 0-100°C. The maximum frame rate is 16 Hz, ideal for smooth thermal image capture.

The breakout board includes a 3.3V regulator and level shifting, compatible with 3V or 5V systems. It features STEMMA QT connectors for I2C, allowing easy plug-and-play with compatible cables.

Example code and libraries are provided for Arduino and Python to help you get started quickly.
