Description
If you need to precisely measure stress and strain using a Wheatstone bridge, the Adafruit NAU7802 24-Bit ADC breakout board is perfect. It includes a super-high-resolution 24-bit differential ADC with built-in gain and calibration circuitry, ideally suited for strain gauges, load cells, and other four-wire Wheatstone bridge sensors.
The breakout features the NAU7802 ADC chip and support circuitry, plus four terminal blocks for connecting four-wire sensors. The E- pad connects to ground, E+ provides a selectable positive reference voltage from 2.4V to 4.0V, and A- and A+ connect to the differential outputs of the sensor bridge. Additionally, a 6-pin terminal block (B+ and B-) supports a second bridge input on updated versions of the board.
This enables conversion of minute voltage changes caused by sensor deformation into precise force or mass measurements. Use the Adafruit Arduino library or CedarGrove's CircuitPython/Python library for easy configuration and data reading. Note the device's fixed I2C address; multiple devices on one bus require a multiplexer.
