Description

Since 2012, NeoPixels have become a staple for makers and artists due to their simple wiring and vibrant RGB colors. The Adafruit NeoPXL8 FeatherWing takes NeoPixel control to the next level, allowing up to 8 strands of DMA-driven NeoPixels to run concurrently on the Feather M4 (SAMD51-based) at up to 8 x 1750 pixels, totaling 14000 pixels.

This FeatherWing leverages Timer 0 in waveform mode and DMA channels for precise and efficient data handling, freeing your microcontroller from timing constraints associated with NeoPixel data streams. It includes level shifting from 3.3V to 5V logic and a clean 5V power supply generated by a switch-cap converter.

You can choose between two connection options: 2 x 8-pin headers with ground and 5V logic signal or 2 x RJ-45 Ethernet jacks wired for NeoPixel compatibility. Resistors are included to reduce signal ringing on long runs.

Note: The NeoPXL8 FeatherWing is designed specifically for Feather M4 but can be used with other Feather boards for level shifting capabilities if compatible NeoPixel firmware is available.
