Description

The Adafruit NeoRGB Stemma board simplifies wiring for true analog RGB LED strips and LEDs which require 12V DC and driver FETs. This plug-and-play STEMMA board features a 2mm JST PH connector on one end and a 5-pin 0.1" screw terminal block on the other, converting standard 3-5V 800KHz NeoPixel signals using a WS2811F chip to high-efficiency AO3406 N-channel FETs capable of sinking 3 Amps per channel with 50milliOhm Ron.

Key benefits include controlling any PWM-able common-anode RGB LED strip or LED as a single NeoPixel at up to 16V and 3 Amps per channel, suitable for large analog LEDs or arrays, and LED strips, including 3 independent single-channel strips. Note the WS2811 chips do not support 4 channels, so RGBW strips are unsupported.

Usage involves connecting a 2mm JST PH cable signal wire (white) to a NeoPixel-compatible 3 or 5V logic signal, powering the LED strip with 3-16V DC through the red wire or terminal block depending on current draw, and establishing proper ground connections.

The onboard green LED indicates power status, and a red signal LED blinks when data is transmitted. The board supports signal chaining with an output pin.
