Description

Relive the classic gaming experience with the Adafruit PC Joystick to seesaw I2C Adapter. This compact adapter features a 15-pin D-Sub socket port compatible with vintage PC joysticks that plug into the old Game Port (DE-15). It integrates an ATtiny816 helper chip that acts as an I2C peripheral using the Adafruit 'seesaw' library, allowing easy interfacing with any microcontroller or microcomputer via I2C.

The adapter includes two STEMMA QT ports for simple 4-pin JST SH cable connections, supporting joystick X & Y axes and two button inputs even on controllers lacking analog inputs. It also has a built-in 5V power generator to power the joystick as expected.

Designed for vintage joystick enthusiasts and modern developers alike, this adapter is great for converting old controllers without cutting cables. Example code is available for Arduino and CircuitPython/Python to quickly get your project up and running. The board ships fully assembled and tested, and includes a small header for breadboard projects requiring soldering.
