Description
If you're looking to use the Qwiic / Stemma QT standard for your next project but need to power or interface with 5V sensors or devices, the Adafruit QT 3V to 5V Level Booster Breakout is the perfect solution. It lets you boost 3V power and logic signals from microcontrollers like Raspberry Pi, ARM Cortex, ESP32, ATSAMD chips, RP2040 boards, and micro:bits up to 5V, enabling compatibility with higher voltage components.
The board features a 5V charge-pump boosting regulator that can provide 100mA continuous (250mA peak) and level shifting circuitry. It safely shifts I2C logic levels from 3V to 5V while maintaining the same I2C traffic, allowing you to use older or high-power devices that require 5V. There is also a solder jumper on the back to configure the output logic level to unshifted 3V if needed.
This breakout includes breadboard breakout pins for prototyping and can also serve as a QT-to-perfboard adapter. STEMMA QT connectors on either side are compatible with I2C connectors, enabling solderless connections and easy chaining of additional sensors and accessories using compatible cables (not included).
