Description

"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat."

Sending data over long distances is like magic, and now you can be a magician with this range of powerful and easy-to-use radio modules. The Adafruit RFM69HCW Transceiver Radio Breakout is a +20dBm FSK packet radio module in the 433 MHz frequency band, perfect for long-range, low-speed wireless communication.

This module is suitable for use with microcontrollers such as Arduino for sensor networks or other data transmission projects. The RFM69HCW supports encryption, auto-retransmit, and has a SPI interface for easy integration.

  • SX1231 based module with SPI interface
  • +13 to +20 dBm (up to 100 mW) Power Output Capability (selectable in software)
  • Current draw: 50mA (+13 dBm) to 150mA (+20dBm) during transmission, ~30mA during active listening
  • Approximate range of 500 meters line of sight, extendable with directional antennas
  • Supports multipoint networks with individual node addresses
  • Encrypted packet engine with AES-128
  • Packet radio with Arduino libraries available
  • Operates in license-free ISM band (ITU Europe) or amateur band (ITU America with restrictions)
  • Includes 3.3V regulator and level shifter for 3-5V logic compatibility

Note: Antenna must be soldered on by user using wire or connectors (uFL/SMA). Soldering of header pins is required.
