Description
FRAM (Ferroelectric RAM) offers a breakthrough in non-volatile memory combining fast write performance with extremely high endurance. This SPI FRAM breakout board features a 4 Mbit (512 KBytes) MB85RS4MT chip, capable of operating at up to 40 MHz SPI clock speeds.
The board includes a built-in 3.3V logic level shifter and regulator, making it compatible with both 3V and 5V systems. Its low power consumption and instantaneous byte-level access make it ideal for data logging, buffering, or any situation requiring frequent writes and reliable data retention.
- 4 Mbit (512 KBytes) FRAM storage
- SPI interface, compatible with SPI modes 0 and 3
- Operating frequency up to 40 MHz
- Extremely high endurance: up to 10 trillion writes per byte
- Data retention up to 95 years at 55 °C
- Low power operation at 2.6 mA max @ 40 MHz
- Wide operating temperature range: -40 °C to +85 °C
- 3.3V logic level shifting and regulator onboard
Each byte can be read and written instantaneously without the need to worry about wear leveling as with EEPROM or flash. The board comes breadboard-friendly with the standard 0.1" pitch headers included.
