Description
FRAM (Ferroelectric RAM) is an innovative data storage technology combining non-volatile memory with dynamic responsiveness. The Adafruit SPI Non-Volatile FRAM Breakout features a 64 Kbit (8 KByte) storage capacity with SPI interface. It offers low power consumption and fast write performance, ideal for low-power or inconsistent-power datalogging and data buffering applications.
This breakout board allows usage at 3V or 5V power and logic. It operates at SPI clock rates up to 20MHz, providing instantaneous read/write access to each byte, similar to SRAM but with 95 years data retention at room temperature. The chip supports 10 trillion read/write cycles per byte, reducing the need for wear leveling compared to Flash or EEPROM memory.
The board is breadboard-friendly and comes with a spare 0.1" male header for easy soldering.
