Description

The Adafruit TCA4307 Hot-Swap I2C Buffer breakout is designed to enable hot-plugging on the I2C bus, protecting your controller from wayward peripherals that can cause the bus to hang during attach or detach events. It allows you to connect and disconnect I2C peripheral devices safely without resetting your system.

Key Features:

  • Designed specifically to handle non-hot-swap I2C protocol and protect the bus
  • Compatible with 2.3 to 5.5V DC power and logic levels
  • Supports I2C clock rates up to 400KHz
  • Includes stuck bus recovery capable of generating up to 16 clock pulses to free the bus
  • ENable pin to disconnect the IN and OUT sides of the bus
  • READY pin indicates when the peripheral side is buffer-connected
  • Comes in the STEMMA QT form factor for easy plug-and-play with SparkFun Qwiic and other STEMMA QT compatible devices
  • Compact dimensions: 25.4mm x 17.8mm x 4.5mm
  • Lightweight at 1.7g

This is a perfect accessory for projects requiring reliable I2C communication with hot-plugging capability.

Note: STEMMA QT cables are not included but available separately.
