Description
The Adafruit TPS61169 Constant Current Boost Converter for LEDs offers an easy solution for driving LEDs in series or parallel by providing up to 40V and 400mA output from a 3~5V input. Unlike typical boost converters that supply fixed voltages, this board boosts the voltage until the set current is achieved, making it ideal for LED applications which require constant current.
It works perfectly with Adafruit's LED nOOds and filaments, supporting configurations up to 24V at 200mA. The TPS61169 chip includes a 1.2A internal switch, automatic over-voltage protection, and supports LED dimming via the PWM input pin. This board is quiet, efficient (about 90%), and operates cool.
Current output is adjustable via mini DIP switches with options of 25mA, 50mA, 100mA, 200mA, up to 400mA total.
Power input is via 3-5V DC, and LEDs connect at the output port. Note: shorting or opening the output may require power cycling to reset the chip.
