Description
Have some USB logic analyzer, multimeter or oscilloscope and bumping up against the frustration of a shared earth ground? The Offspring wisely sang "Ya gotta keep'em isolated!" Power and signal isolation improves common-mode voltage, enhances noise rejection, and permits two circuits to operate at different voltage levels.
This handy little low-cost USB Isolator provides protection against harmful noise, ground loops, surges, and spikes. It works with any 1.5Mbps (low speed) or 12Mbps (full speed) USB device. Please note that it is not for high speed USB devices, often used for video cameras.
Particularly useful when paired with USB testing instruments, it separates or isolates your earth ground from your circuit for high voltage, accident-protection, or floating ground needs. The isolator features its own isolated 5V power supply supplying 100mA, making it perfect for devices like the BitScope Micro USB. Protect your computer or laptop by using this isolator between your USB ports.
Designed for 5V power and 3.3V logic USB devices only; usage with other protocols or voltages is not recommended.
