Description
The Adafruit USB Type C Power Delivery Dummy Breakout featuring the HUSB238 USB PD sink chip allows easy configuration for USB Type C power delivery using either resistor jumpers or dynamic I2C control. Designed to work with USB Type C wall adapters that offer multiple voltages including 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V, 18V, and 20V, this breakout negotiates voltage and current levels via the CC lines to select the desired power output.
This versatile board is ideal for projects requiring more than the standard 5V @ 2A, supporting up to 20V at 5A, providing up to 100W power delivery over USB C. It can be used to power devices directly or adapt DC or battery-powered devices to USB C power.
Key Features:
- Jumper-configured voltage selection from 5V to 20V using onboard resistors, no microcontroller needed for fixed voltages.
- I2C-configured dynamic voltage control for advanced applications, compatible with microcontrollers and microcomputers.
- Supports up to 20V @ 5A (100W) power delivery over USB C.
- Includes header and 2-pin terminal block for flexible connection options.
- Compact dimensions: 24.5mm x 20.2mm x 4.9mm.
- Lightweight at 2.2g.
Note: I2C configuration requires an external power supply or regulated voltage and pull-up resistors, as onboard voltage regulation is not provided. Arduino libraries and example code are available for easy integration.
