Description

The VL53L0X is a Time of Flight distance sensor utilizing a tiny invisible laser source and a matching sensor to measure the time it takes for the light to bounce back, providing highly accurate distance measurements.

This sensor features a narrow 35 degree sensing cone, making it precise for detecting the distance of objects directly in front of it, ranging approximately from 30mm to 1200mm in default mode, and up to 1.5 to 2 meters in long-range mode on reflective surfaces.

Unlike ultrasonic or IR distance sensors, the VL53L0X offers better accuracy without linearity problems or double imaging issues.

It is equipped with a breakout board including a voltage regulator and level shifting, allowing it to operate safely on 3-5V power and logic levels. It supports I2C communication with STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors for easy plug-and-play connection without soldering.

Compatible with various microcontrollers including Feather, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and CircuitPython boards. The product comes with extensive documentation, sample code, and tutorials to aid in development.
