Description

The ADS1015 is a high-precision 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) providing 3300 samples per second over an I2C interface. It features 4 single-ended input channels or 2 differential channels along with a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) up to x16 to amplify smaller signals for full-range measurement.

The breakout board operates over a wide voltage range from 2.0V to 5.5V and is compatible with various microcontrollers that lack onboard ADC or require higher accuracy. Equipped with ferrites for noise reduction on AVDD and AGND lines, it utilizes the STEMMA QT / Qwiic form factor for easy, solderless connection with compatible quick-connect cables.

This board is ideal for general-purpose ADC needs with low power consumption, multiple programmable data rates (128 SPS to 3.3 kSPS), an internal low-drift voltage reference, internal oscillator, and programmable comparator functionality.

  • 12-bit ADC with 4 single-ended or 2 differential inputs
  • Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA) up to x16
  • Wide supply voltage: 2.0V to 5.5V
  • Low current consumption: 150µA in continuous mode, auto shut-down in single-shot mode
  • Programmable data rates: 128 SPS to 3300 SPS
  • I2C interface with selectable addresses (0x48 to 0x4B)
  • Compatible with STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors for easy plug-and-play
  • Includes 0.1" standard header and four mounting holes

The board measures 25.4mm x 17.8mm x 4.6mm and weighs approximately 1.8g, making it compact and lightweight for embedded applications. Comprehensive tutorials, example code for Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and CircuitPython, and wiring guidance are available to get started quickly.
