Description
Hydro dipping is a fun, hands-on way of adding printed designs to any surface! This process can be done on any material that can hold the base coat and can be submerged into water. It works especially well with 3D printed projects, molded, and cast parts. When done right, you can cover an entire shape with colorful ink — like motorcycle helmets and ceramic statues.
Start by using an ink-jet printer (laser printers won't work!) to print your design. Solid, abstract, and repeating patterns work best, as lining up artwork during dipping can be challenging. After printing, the thermal paper is floated on top of hot water, with the ink held together by a thin clear polymer layer on the surface. Prepare and slowly dip your piece at a 45-degree angle into the water, transferring the image to your project. If the result isn't perfect, you can scrub it off before the ink sets.
This thermal paper is A4 size and works best with water-based pigment ink. The pack contains 10 sheets that can be cut down or reused if unprinted parts have enough border space.
