Description

Develop coding skills in the classroom or code club with the Kitronik Arcade for BBC micro:bit Class Pack, an engaging and hands-on way to learn coding.

This pack includes 10 Kitronik Arcade gamepads for micro:bit, 10 USB noodle cables, a pack of 40 AA batteries, and is housed in a durable, reusable Gratnells lidded tray. Each arcade gamer comes pre-fitted with a laser cut protective case to protect the device in classroom use. Additionally, 10 drawstring microfiber soft cases are included for further protection during storage. Note: micro:bit units are not included and can be purchased separately.

The Kitronik Arcade provides a handheld gaming platform specifically designed for use with the BBC micro:bit and the MakeCode Arcade editor, allowing users to write and run their own games or download existing ones. The MakeCode Arcade editor supports simple snap-together blocks for coding, as well as JavaScript and Python programming.

Key features of the arcade include a 1.77" full-color LCD screen, 4 directional arrow buttons, 2 action buttons, a menu button, and 5 croc-clip pads breaking out micro:bit pins (P0, P1, P2), voltage, and ground for custom additions. The arcade is powered by 3 AA batteries (not included) and uses the micro:bit's built-in sounder.

Educational resources include a datasheet with product overview, usage info, dimensions, and a quick start guide to coding with MakeCode Arcade, plus extensive lesson plans, tutorials, and community projects available on the MakeCode Arcade website.
