Description
The Kitronik Mini Prong Soil Moisture Sensor is a compact sensor designed specifically for use with the BBC micro:bit. It measures soil moisture levels by using two conductive tines placed into the soil, producing an analogue voltage readable by the micro:bit.
This mini version of the original Prong sensor is perfectly adapted for use with the Kitronik Greenhouse Kit for BBC micro:bit. The sensor connects to the micro:bit via crocodile clips and is powered by the 3V supply of the micro:bit.
Compatible with both BBC micro:bit V1 & V2, it can be programmed using any micro:bit coding editor, including Microsoft's MakeCode editor.
Features:
- Measures soil moisture levels accurately.
- Connects to the micro:bit using crocodile clips.
- Compatible with BBC micro:bit V1 and V2.
- Program with any micro:bit coding editor.
- Powered by the micro:bit's 3V supply.
Contents:
- 1 x Prong Soil Moisture Sensor for micro:bit.
Dimensions:
- Length: 33mm
- Height: 43mm
- PCB Thickness: 1.6mm
Requires:
- 1 x BBC micro:bit or BBC micro:bit V2
Note: For sensor longevity, avoid continuous moisture checks. It is recommended to perform moisture checks intermittently to prevent rapid erosion of the electrodes.
