Description
Set classroom design challenges and test outcomes with fun timed racing activities using the Kitronik Timed Drag Racer Module. Assemble the kit, create a chassis, and race competitively.
This module combines electronics and design in an engaging hands-on exercise. It includes a pre-built motor driver and timer module, a low-torque flat DC motor, an AA battery holder, a motor pulley, and a 10nF capacitor for noise suppression. The battery holder and motor require soldering to the PCB, along with the capacitor soldered across the motor terminals.
The board features a push button that runs the attached motor for 5 seconds when pressed. Additionally, button expansion pads allow mounting an external push button. The operating voltage ranges from 2.5V to 3.0V with a typical current draw of 220mA during motor operation. The typical battery life with 2 x AA batteries is approximately 2000 button presses.
Features include:
- Combine electronics and design in a fun, educational setting.
- Build the kit, design and create chassis and wheels, then test and race to evaluate designs.
- Push button activates motor for 5 seconds; expansion pads allow remote button connection.
- Operating voltage between 2.5V and 3.0V.
- Typical current draw: 220mA during motor operation.
- Approximate battery life: 2000 button presses using 2 x AA batteries.
