Description

The LANA TNY is a compact development board designed by Phyx, featuring the powerful WCH CH32V203 RISC-V microcontroller. It offers a single 32-bit RISC-V core running up to 144MHz with 1-cycle multiply and hardware divide capabilities. The board includes 10KB SRAM, 32KB single-cycle Flash, and an additional 224KB external XIP Flash for extended storage use. Peripherals include ADC, timers, USB device, UART, I2C, and SPI.

The LANA TNY is inspired by popular bite-sized boards like the Adafruit QT Py and Seeed Studio XIAO but includes added SMD pins for additional IO options and a built-in WS2811 compatible LED output.

Note: The CH32 series has limited community and official support compared to other microcontrollers. It does not support CircuitPython or MicroPython, and Arduino support is in early stages, making it more suited for advanced users comfortable with firmware development and toolchain configuration.

Available development environments and tools include:

  • Embeetle (officially supported)
  • Arduino core with SPI and I²C Master support
  • Platform.io (requires updated WCH-Link firmware)
  • CH32V003fun (experimental support)
  • MounRiver Studio (official WCH IDE based on Eclipse)

The board features a USB Bootloader activated by holding the button during USB connection, or can be programmed/debugged via SWD pins using a WCH-Link programmer.
