Description
The Raspberry Pi Debug Probe Kit is a comprehensive USB-to-debug solution designed for seamless, solderless plug-and-play debugging of the RP2040 chipset and Raspberry Pi Pico. It brings advanced debugging capabilities such as step and trace debugging using gdb & OpenOCD, going beyond traditional printf-style debugging methods.
This kit features both a processor serial debug interface (Arm Serial Wire Debug interface by default) and an industry-standard UART interface, compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3-pin debug connector specification. It also includes a bonus USB-to-Serial converter for UART bridge functionality, offering more versatility at a cost-effective price.
The kit contains the Debug Probe hardware in a protective plastic case, along with a USB cable and three types of debug cables to cover most debugging use cases. It supports major host platforms including Windows, Mac, and Linux, and works with OpenOCD and other CMSIS-DAP compatible tools.
Compatible devices extend beyond Raspberry Pi products to any ARM-based microcontroller with a 3.3V I/O SWD port. The firmware is based on Raspberry Pi Pico hardware running open source Picoprobe software, allowing easy updates and customization.
