Description

Getting touchy performance with your screen's touchscreen? Resistive touch screens are incredibly popular as overlays to TFT and LCD displays. If you want to connect one to a computer, you need something to handle the analog-to-digital conversion.

The AR1100 chip solves this problem by acting as a touch-to-USB converter, and it comes with calibration software (Windows only). After calibrating, it can be used on any OS without drivers, as it shows up as a regular mouse or digitizer HID device. Tested successfully on Mac, Windows, and Debian Linux (Raspbian on Raspberry Pi).

This breakout board features the AR1100 chip with both USB and UART interfaces. The USB interface is mainly used, with optional TTL UART data extraction. A red LED indicates when a touch is detected.

Supports 1mm pitch FPC cables compatible with most medium/large touchscreens. Four X/Y contacts are available for 4-wire sensing via 0.1" pitch breakouts for hand soldering or wiring.

  • Plug and play support with USB-C connector.
  • Acts as a mouse or digitizer via USB HID.
