USB A to USB C Adapter

As technology changes and adapts, so does Adafruit, and speaking of adapting, this adapter features a USB A plug and a USB C socket allowing your older computer or laptop to connect with the latest USB Type C devices.

USB C is the latest industry-standard connector for transmitting data and power. Like Lightning and MagSafe cables, USB C has no up or down orientation, unlike USB A which can only be inserted correctly in one orientation.

This adapter works great with any device that has a USB A port and enables you to attach a USB C cable. It works best with USB 3 ports for faster data transfer but is compatible with USB 1 and 2 ports as well. Note that using this adapter will not increase the speed of older ports nor provide advanced power negotiation features; it supports standard 5V up to 1A power delivery.
